    La Folie Douce/La Fruitiere

    Tel: +33(0)4 79 06 01 47
    www.lafoliedouce.com

folie selfOpen from 9am for drinks and from 11.30 for food

La Folie Douce is the self service offering really interesting dishes, unusually and attractively presented, the patisserie and soups are home made, the little bread buns are delicious. We did not like the soup served tepid and the silly charge for mustard when you buy sausages.  Spaghetti Bolognese 14.50€, Home made soups 6.90€, dish of the day 12.79€, puddings 6.90€. British news papers of the day available.

fruitiere barLa Frutiere, the restaurant offers an excellent “plat du jour” (recommendation of the day) for 22€, the decor is unusual, a mix of antiquities with all sorts of objects from all over the world. The Mont Blanc is visible from some of the tables at the back (on clear days!). On the same level there is a VIP dining room where you can keep to yourself with your friends, the price is the same, you just have to ask for it at the time of reservation. From 12.30 to 15.30
The service can be very slow some days, the waiters are working really hard, it’s a big food factory.
Sometime one feels taken for a ride, when the dish ordered does not fulfill your expectation.

la cave a vin front page Underneath La Frutiere’s restaurant, La cave, a huge, long dining room, dug in the rock . One side holds the most incredible bottles of wine; Chateau Margaux, Mouton Rothchild, Haut Brion, Saint Emilion…(see photo) very bling bling, perfect to impress your friends. The menu is the same price as above, once more if you wish to eat in this spectacular surrounding, just ask when reserving. From 12.30 to 15.30.
