An agency unlike others
Created in 1956, the agency has become the largest in the Alps and yet remains only in Val d’Isere. The family has always rejected the idea of opening agencies in other resorts. It was not for lack of opportunities but the Degouey family believed that if they want to deliver a good service they had to concentrate on Val d’Isere. This allows the agency to be open all year round and to maintain a competent and professional team. The other rule of the Agency, in order to stay true to their clients, has been never to act as a property developer in spite of numerous opportunities.
It all started with Andre who came to Val d’Isere to open a garage in 1956. He sensed the demand and quickly realised the potential for holiday rentals. Andre became mayor in 1983, with a great vision and the help of a competent team, he undertook a drastic remodelling of the village. The road to the ski lifts was hidden in a tunnel creating an amazing “Front de neige” void of cars, the old village was extended with the addition of a new “Val Village” built respecting the traditional Alpine designs and the club Med was moved to a larger location in the Legettaz hamlet. It really gave a new aesthetic and cohesion to the village with its beautiful 17th century baroque church.
Alain Degouey (above) very respected in the business, ran the agency until recently, he still comes occasionally. As well as selling properties, Val d’Isere Agence is the managing agent of 90% of the apartments in the village. They have 600 flats and chalets on their books to rent offering an incredible choice for all budgets. Jerome believes that he can pretty much find the product for you, whether it is a studio for 2 or a luxury chalet with pool, private cinema, gym and all the staff to look after you.
