APVI news letter
Dear friends,
Last August, the Municipal Council adopted a multi-year plan to modernise the lifts as part of a more comprehensive project to improve both the skiing area and different parts of the village : La Daille, the so-called « Coin » and the Front de Neige.
STVI has committed to spend a total of €51 million, over two periods. 2011/2013 and then 2014/2020. This budget includes dismantling and rebuilding the lifts, particularly on Bellevarde.
As the project impacts the future of Val d’Isère, it raises a number of questions regarding the layout of the lifts and on a larger scale the new constructions, which must be examined within the scope of the zoning laws.
Public hearings will start at the end of December. You are invited to give your opinion and participate in the public enquiry held at City Hall, as requested by zoning regulations.
APVI feels strongly about the need to preserve the « specificity » of the village of Val d’Isère : our resort is one of a kind, and its present environment must be safeguarded. Projects must therefore conform to this guideline and priorities be carefully selected, such as the number of urgent renovations.
These projects will be presented and discussed at our General Assembly, held on December 28, 2011, at 5 :45pm at the Centre Henri Oreiller.
You are invited to attend and participate by voicing your opinion and making propositions.
Sincerely,
Francoise Colin-Bertin, Chair.

RENTING IN VAL D’ISERE
If you rent your flat/chalet in Val d’Isere you should declare the income.
In France, rental income is taxable irrespective of the owner’s nationality; rental income is taxable in the country where the property is located. Here is a little guide:
If your income rent does not exceed 32,000€ the simplest is to opt for the “micro bic” regime
The calculation of the tax payable is the following:
From gross income deduct 50%, the remainder is then subject to income tax at 20%
To make a tax return:
1/ You have to download a tax return form No 2042 where you fill your name and address in UK.
2/ You have to download the form 2042C, find the window in part 5-C.
3/ Put the amount of your gross receipts in that window.
4/ Send yours forms to:
Centre des impôts des non résidents
10 rue du Centre
93465 Noisy le grand Cedex
Tel: 00 33 1 57 33 83 00
Page where to find the forms: Click here
Once on the above page:
Put the year in the window “annee”
Put 2042 or 2042C in the window Numero d’imprime
Put impot sur le revenu in the window impot.
It takes you to an other page where the forms to be print are.
For 2042:

For 2042C:

Uk has a double taxation agreement with France, when you declare your rental income in the UK you can reduce the tax payable by the amount paid in France.
If the income from the rent exceeds the threshold of 32,000€ it is advisable to consult a professional to file the tax return as you will be taxed under the regime “au réel”
Good luck
