Val d’Isere’s topography is near perfect and hence has become a paradise for skiers. The entire village breathes, lives, thinks about skiing and has naturally attracted some of the best ski instructors in the world. With around 18 ski schools in this tiny village, there is a great number of fabulous instructors! We obviously don’t know each one of them. The list below is not exhaustive (and is very subjective), we just hope you enjoy skiing with them as much as we do. Sorry the names are not in an alphabetical order. All of them speak English.

Elodie works at the ESF. After a time in snow boarding competitions, she now specialises in ski and snow boarding lessons with adults and children of all levels. She has a great patience and enthusiasm teaching at all levels.

Snow boarding off-piste
Nicolas has a great experience and a genuine passion for this discipline he has been teaching for 25 years. Every morning from 9am to 1pm he takes a group (70€ each) providing all the necessary safety equipment. He will find the best spots but also will teach how to read the snow and analyse all the components to become a proper rider.
Every Monday at 6.30 he gives talks about riding off-piste at the VSPOT BAR (above the cinema) Free. Starting the 12th December.

Xavier gives lessons in snow boarding and skiing, for adults and children. He is also one of the few instructors running the handi section at the ESF. Jacques works at the ESF. He specialises in ski and snow boarding lessons. Jacques has competed in snow boarding around the world and has a great experience off piste. Both adults and younger people will feel safe and enjoy learning with him skiing (or snow boarding) on and off piste. Jacques has a knack to find this little bit of powder, forgotten! He is one of the few people who don’t mind mixing skiers and snowboarders.

Francoise works at the ESF, on top of English she also speaks Japanese, Norwegian and Russian. She likes working with children even the very little ones. She has time and patience and is particularly good with those who have developed a fear of skiing.

High Mountain guide and ski instructor, before Val d’Isere, Fabrice has worked in Canada and New Zealand. During the winter he guides at Top Ski School when he is not touring in Norway, Canada, Marocco, Turkey or somewhere else. Born in Val d’Isere, Benjamin teaches more particularly children and teenagers in slalom and super G. He hold a license to teach handicapped people to ski (with a special equipment provided). Benjamin like using videos to help people to progress.

Didier is one of the most experienced and respected ski professionals in Val d’Isere. He taught at ENSA (French instructor training school) for many years and is one of the best technicians on the mountain, both on and off piste. Passionate about skiing at every level, he is a true mountain professional – a hugely experienced guide off piste and a patient, dedicated instructor. He is also a recognized telemark expert and can offer instruction and coaching at all levels, on or off piste.

Although Bruno has a long experience of skiing (21 seasons) in the “Espace Killy” he can also make you discover the mountains of Italy, or closer, the surroundings valleys (Maurienne, Beaufortain).
