Ski-schools we like
In Val d’Isere there are around 18 ski schools, to say the least, there is a great choice! The quality of skiing attracts some of the best professionals in teaching. Here we give names of the ones we have no hesitation in recommending. It does not mean that the other schools are bad, it just means we have not had enough feed back. We are interested to hear your opinion, please share your comments and suggestions…

It is not really a school in a normal way! Michelle will organize the ski of your children: meeting you where you are so you don’t have to run to the ski school, taking the small ones for an hour or two, coming back to teach an other group….meeting you at the restaurant…… She will be adaptable to your family organization. That way you can go skiing early or late, and if you have several children with different levels it might be the best solution. Michelle will give you at the end a video of the children skiing so you have a souvenir back home!
Ski tuition specially adapted to children. As young as 3, children will experience the sensations of sliding with the help of games, the older ones can go on learning the art of slalom in view of obtaining medals, or just for fun. There are also snowboarding lessons, snowshoe and off piste discovery. Prices starting at 171€/4hours.

In 2002 four British instructors decided to set up their own business. Having worked in Val d’Isere for years as instructors, boot fitters, delivery drivers, you name it, they knew all too well the competitive nature of the ski school market. So, the goal became to offer people something different; high-quality, focussed ski coaching, aimed to appeal to keen skiers having outgrown traditional ski school. The results have been spectacular and ten years later The Development Centre a.k.a. TDC has a large and growing following in Val d’Isere, Tignes and more recently in Meribel.
